Hi all,
I’m a senior this year and I’ve finally decided on which schools to apply to/what major. I’m applying to:
-SDSU (Public Health)
-UCSD (Public Health)
-UCI (Public Health Policy)
-UCB (Public Health)

GPA:
4.31 capped UC GPA
4.54 uncapped
2 AP’s/1 honors sophomore year, 3 AP’s/1 honors/1 college class junior year, 3 AP’s/1 college class senior year

AP’s: APES (didn’t take), AP Bio (4), AP World History (5), APUSH (5), AP Art History (5), AP Chem (3)

I have college credit from a community college for Calc I (A) and Calc II (A) and will have credit for Linear Algebra and Calc III by the end of this year.

SAT: 2290 (800CR, 770M, 720W)

SAT II:
750 Math 2
780 World History
780 Bio M

EC’s:
VP of HOSA (Secretary last year)
Hospital volunteer (200+ hours)
Tutoring (~150 hours)
CSF (20 hours)
10 years of Arabic school (not sure if this counts?)
Explorer’s Post (1 hr/month)

Awards:
Presidential Volunteer Service Award (Bronze)
6th place at state HOSA competition
AP Scholar with Distinction

I’d assume you would get into SDSU, UCSD and UCI.
You might get rejected from Cal but UCSD is better for public health anyway.

UCI: Low Match
UCSD: Match
UCB: High Match

You are a very competitive applicant based on your stats. If your essays are equally excellent, you should several options to choose from in the Spring.

@ninemuses - Since you are such a strong candidate, especially for Regents and Merit Scholars, I’ll pass on a bit of invaluable advice we learned here on CC - check your email’s spam/junk mail daily. One of my kids forgot to check it, and found a Regents invite just sitting there with a ton of spam. For some reason, even though all the addresses were in the contact folder, a great deal of UC correspondence went straight to junk mail.
