First, I’ll warn you that I’m not at all an expert on what it takes to get in to CMU. However, it seems to me that you have a reasonably good application for SCS. Your test scores are fine, and while your GPA is a little low, I think they’ll take the fact that your high school was competitive into account. I don’t think your AP scores matter that much, although it does look a little odd to have done badly on some of them.

You have a nice amount of volunteer work, and your medical internship looks very very good on an application. Are you a girl? I know that only about 25% of SCS is girls, so if you are, this would help you too.

Overall, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if you were accepted. It’s a very selective program, and thus hard to guess at whether they’ll accept you, but I think you have what they’re looking for. (Keep in mind though, that the acceptance rate is just over 10%, so even amazing applicants will be turned down. Don’t be discouraged if you aren’t accepted.)

thanks haha but uhm i applied to CIT ECE. i already got rejected. I’m pretty chill with it i guess. three years ago i thought i couldn’t even get into a lot of middle tier public schools.

Your ECs are very impressive, in my opinion. Do you plan on swimming for CMU because they are DIII and judging on your accolades you’d probably be good enough. Regardless, I do think there’s an excellent chance of acceptance— (idk 70% lol)
