BUMP

Anyone…?

Hard to chance internationals from India, because there are so many excellent applicants to the Ivies, etc. from China and India. Your app looks very competitive, at least. I’d expect you’d get into Drexel, I don’t know anything about UWaterloo. I’m not sure what UT-Austin admissions are like for international applicants, but I think you’d have a good chance.

@usualhopeful Thanks for chancing!

@usualhopeful What about WashU ?

BUMP

Anyone…? Any inputs will be appreciated.

Understand that you can probably chance yourself just as well as anyone else on here, as long as you are realistic. I agree with the above post: you are competitive, but there are many amazing international students. It really is a crapshoot.

I would put WashU under the highly competitive “Ivies, etc.” category.

If financial aid isn’t needed, WashU isn’t close to the Ivy League schools in terms of competitiveness. In fact, 42.4% of the students who applied were accepted ED. My impression is that ED applicants who can full pay don’t have to have stellar credentials although obviously better is always better.

I’ve never seen a reliable report of percent admitted ED. Where is the reference for this lostaccount?

“42.4% of the students who applied were accepted ED”

I did find a New York Times article with data that differs significantly from lostaccount’s information. It’s here:

http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2013/04/15/education/thechoice-2013-acceptance-rates.html

The early admit rate is significantly lower than the one in lostaccount’s post (between 26 and 31%).

I’m confused why Stanford isn’t on your list, given your involvement in apps and such. You’re competitive anywhere, though.

@TheUltimateNerd Thanks for chancing!
Can I PM you ?

@jarrett211 I’ve noticed your activity on CC and I think that you give the most accurate chances. Could you please chance me?

Sure, you can pm me, I probably won’t have time to look at it until tomorrow

@Jelloshozz Haha thanks. :slight_smile: Not really chancing much anymore since I’m kind of done with the college process now, (and you know that with the schools you are applying to many of them are hard to judge), but since you took the trouble to find me out, I’d feel bad if I didn’t do anything. Feel free to PM with any questions you have. I’d rather do it there rather than give you a straight-up chance here. If it means anything, I can give you a few comments/questions here (and you can PM me with any further chance/college questions you have):

  1. You have a lot of impressive awards, which are important coming from as competitive of a country such as India
  2. Are you applying Early Decision anywhere?
  3. Your grades are good (I know from talking with other Indian applicants how difficult CBSE curriculum is), and don't bother wasting your time taking the SAT again (if you've taken it once and think you can improve it by 50+ points by all means go for it. India is competitive man. If 2300 is your superscore, DO NOT take the SAT again. 2300 is plenty good. DO NOT take the ACT unless you are convinced you can get a 36.) Another thing, do not prioritize standardized tests over essays. If you think you would be compromising that if you studied for another SAT, do not take another SAT.
  4. Did you list the schools you had in order of preference?
  5. I see a pretty good balance of extracurriculars, but some things I see could probably be excluded as they appear irrelevant, but you can ask me that in a PM if you want.

Good luck! Let me know if you have any more questions. :slight_smile:
