So im going to be a senior this year, and I have this schedule so far
AP calc ab
AP gov
Physiology 1,2
AP lit
Lunch
Free period
Free period

During my free periods I will have an internship with a local biotech company. My issue is whether or not I should add a 5th class And only have one period off. Due to scheduling issues I can only choose either AP computer science, or an intro to engineering class. I'm wondering if my schedule is challenging enough for Berkeley and ucla (two of my top choices) and how much work AP comp sci is for someone with no prior knowledge. Any advice would be helpful!

This totally depends on the person, but our AP Comp Sci ‘class’ was an independent study with credit granted and a schedule to follow. I have no programming experience and I got a 5 on the test… I found that the amount of material is easily doable in a far less than a year. Not a difficult test either. But this depends on the person obviously. My friend had a tough time with it, though it’s not like he was always on task.

Stay with the schedule you have now. I think that the internship will be worth more than another AP class. Are you interested in learning AP Comp Sci or just getting college credit? If it’s the latter, then stay with the internship.

Well while this decision is over-with, I have just found out that my school cancelled the section of physiology that wasn’t at the same time as calculus, so now I have to change one of those… So I can take either math 150 or AP stats and keep physio, or change physio to another science class(AP enviro, AP physics etc.)
