LAST CHANCE THREAD, will chance back

I am an Asian senior from a top 100 high school in California. My UC GPA is 2.85, however, if you count my freshman year it is 3.5. I will also most likely get a 4.0 this semester. I am aiming for a business-related major, and want to go to law school later on.

UCSC- match (UC schools will try to match CA residents to at least one UC school if they can)

These are the only schools I know about for sure. Take your SAT again if possible!! Don’t get down on yourself though! Just work out your essay. Anything could happen!! =)

i made a typo, after looking back to my transcript, my cumulative gpa is 3.52, and my UC GPA is 2.94.

bump pleasseee

come on guys, this would really help out

I don’t know much about UC schools, but I know about NYU and Emory. Both are reaches. :frowning: Emory is the better bet though, because they are more holistic. NYU only cares about your scores.

Reading-36
Science-27
Essay- don’t know yet.
Does this open up any doors?

please, any insight about the ACT vs the SAT score?

Please anyone?

Don’t know much about UC schools, but Emory and NYU are both reaches.

I think you’d be better off sending just the ACT scores, but if you can, retake both SAT and ACT to see what happens.

NYU - reach

Oxford College(Emory)??

USC reach

UCR reach

Indiana-Bloomington(already applied)??

Cal Poly SLO(already applied)

i would say you’ll probably get into the rest… you seem like a slightly above average applicant which is not at bad thing especially for the schools youre applying to.

SD State

Cal State Fullerton(already applied)

Cal State Long Beach(already applied)

UCSC

Chance me back please! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/811378-chance-swarthmore.html

Unfortunately, UCs don’t really look at freshman or senior year (senior year they look at for those on borderline for their decision)…

 1. NYU- high reach
 2. Oxford College(Emory)- high reach
 3. USC- high reach
 4. UCR- match
 5. Indiana-Bloomington(already applied) ???
 6. Cal Poly SLO(already applied) - high reach
 7. SD State ???
 8. Cal State Fullerton(already applied) - match
 9. Cal State Long Beach(already applied) - slight reach
 10. UCSC - slight reach

Good luck to you! (:

so, should I send in my ACT score only?

also, out of NYU, Oxford, and USC, which one seems the easiest to get in for me?

it would really be helpful, if i could have answers to those two questions, thanks in advance

please lol, ill stop asking if you guys answer haha

The only ones i know are NYU and Oxford College (emory)…NYU should be a low reach, and Emory should be a reach. Coming from CA should make it easier to get into the UC colleges.

Chance me back please!!

NYU and Emory are both reaches. Though your SAT isn’t fantastic, it’s pretty close to NYU’s 1940~ middle 50%. If I recall correctly though, NYU has a pretty liberal policy on test scores and you don’t have to use the SAT if you don’t want, I don’t think.

Your ECs seem okay but it’s really hard to tell just by looking at that list. As long as those ECs have some significance to you and you can convey that significance to the admissions officers, you have a pretty good shot

Chance me!
