Don't worry. I've already gotten into UT Austin.

Being Black + a Women w/ Good GPA & SATs really helps a lot. I think you are in UCLA or Cal. If you write a good personal statement, I think you have a good chance of getting into some of the other schools too.

Most of the schools on that list are reaches for everyone. As long as you are happy with UT Austin the list is fine, but be aware that even with a great application none of these schools are a sure thing and a lot of it comes down to luck because everyone has excellent applications.

I do know how you feel, I applied early to both of my top choices (Carnegie and MIT) so essentially waiting on those results was just as bad. I knew that I had to get into one or the other. Luckily I did (to both) and I’m all done good luck! I’m pretty sure you’ll get into a few really top schools with that resume!

Thanks. I wish I could have applied early, but things (such as procrastination and a 620 on Bio E) didn’t work out. But I retook it, got a good score and I think my essays convey my personality, so here’s for hoping!

I was in a similar situation with you in terms of GPA/class rank and had lower SAT II scores (690 on Math II, and I want to be an engineer - LOL) and I made it into Princeton - my advice, don’t doubt yourself and hope for the best!
