Others:
Essays are decent, nothing spectacular though.
Had an interview with an alumni in my area. Interviews are considered to be a "Very Important" part of the application (Along with GPA). The interview lasted around 40 minutes and it went very well. Several times he talked as if I were already accepted into the college (I laughed inside).

Right now my schedule consists of all AP classes. 13 of the 15 units I am taking this year are from AP classes. I showed a lot of interest in my essays and I told them how I really want to become a doctor (UR is big on research). I also mentioned how I wanted to utilize the opportunites there because in Oregon we do not have the great colleges that the rest of the country has.

If my studying pays off I am probably going to raise my SAT score up to 1350ish maybe a little less or more. If I end up doing very well on the math I will probably get 1400+. My 2nd trimester grades are going to be all A's, which I will try to fax to them as soon as I receive them.

So the question...can anyone give me their opinion about my chances at UofR? Am I way out of my league here or do I have a decent shot of getting in come April.

0.o Interviews are very important?! look of dread... I thought they didn't count for anything... oh well... too late... =/

you look like you have a pretty good chance of getting in, you have really indepth ECs... your stats are pretty close to mine, and so... hopefully we will both get in :)

Thanks for the quick response. Yes, when I used to have my USNews.com College Ranking's list, UofR had the interview as "Very Important" (Which is the highest possible). I think you can check Princeton Review and it will also say that. My EC's don't look too great on paper, but on the essay I elaborated a lot about how I love my church, youth group and the people. Most of my time is spent on church now that I think about it.

I think you have a good chance. Just try to improve your SAT the best you can. From what you said about the interview, I think that would help you a lot. 12 APs? Good luck studying come May. =)

Sadly, I do not think I improved my SAT that much. Rochester only considers the SAT to be "Considered" in the admissions process, so that is the only positive thing I have going for me right now. Hopefully a 1270+ will suffice.

Really? I didn't know that the SAT was only "considered." =/ I don't know whether I should be relieved or not.
I hope you get in! When do the acceptance letters come out? And 6 APs is still a lot. What are you taking?

I believe acceptance letters come out on April 1st. As far as my AP's are concerned, I am taking AP English Language, AP Econonimcs Micro, AP Economics Macro (If you consider these to be the same, then I am taking 5 AP classes), AP Government and Politics, AP Psychology and AP Physics. I am pretty much taking the easiest (With the exception of AP Physics) of all the AP classes. Since I am on a trimester schedule (5 Classes every day), I do not have the luxury of taking 8 AP classes (Funny how I called it a luxury huh?). My sophomore and junior years I took the most difficult AP's in my mind, which in include Calculus, US History, Biology, Statistics, Chemistry, and European History. My school offers 13 different AP classes (The last one being AP French) and I am not taking French, so essentially I have taken the MOST difficult course load available at my school.

The thing I am afraid of is that my grades have shown a downward trend, with the exception of this year (Which will hopefully count for something because 13 of the 15 classes I will be in this year are AP). Freshman year I had a 4.0, Sophomore and Junior year combined to be something like 3.16. But the exception to this trend are my senior year grades. First trimester I got a 3.8, second trimester I am confident I can get a 4.0 in the 5 AP classes I am in. And 3rd trimester should also be an easier 4.0 with 4 AP classes.
