last chances thread before I submit my apps. :)

GPA: freshman and sophomore year- UW 3.8 W 4.1
junior year- UW 4.0 W 4.5

SAT: 1940 (taking them this week, so when you evaluate my chances i guess consider my projected scores which will probably be around a 2000)
cr- 720
w- 630 (will improve in october, hopefull at least high 600's or low 700's)
m- 590 (will also improve, but I doubt higher than a 650)
ACT composite: 28 (also retaking, hopefully a 30+)
No SAT II's yet, but I'm taking U.S. history, Lit, and World History.

Rank: 30/280 (It's not that good because my school doesn't weight classes until our junior year... so basically be have kids in the top 5% of our class who are taking applied classes.)

Extra Curriculars:
President and founder of the Young Democrats Club
Vice President of the Diversity Club
Literary Magazine member and contributer (I may become an editor as well, I'm not sure yet though.)

volunteer all the time at church
volunteer at the library twice a week (10 hrs. a week approx)
College Misericordia Diversity Camp

member of the national honor society
High Honor roll (every quarter freshman and sophomore year)
Principal's Honor roll (every quarter junior year)
I can't think of anything else at the moment... but my EC's are going to be pretty strong once I compile an organized list and figure out what's the most important.

Summer Activities:
volunteering at the library
I also took 2 college courses at wilkes univeristy:
Pschology (I got a 4.0)
Governments of the World (4.0 as well)

Course load- I took two out of the three AP's that my school offers, pretty much the "hardest" courseload I could... even thought it's not that difficult.

phys. ed

Sophomore year:

AP grades:
euro- 3
us- 3
gov't and politics- 4
Not so great, but two I self studied for.

My essay will be very good. Not to sound cocky, but I'm a pretty good writer and I've had some unique life experiences to say the least.

Rec's will also be very positive, except I'm not sure how good the quality of the writing will be. I'm getting one from on of the college professors I had during my summer courses. He's head of the political science program and I want to major in political science.

here are the schools:
american university
smith college
mount holyoke college
villanova
bryn mawr
saint joseph's university
college of the holy cross
Bates
Fordham
University of Scranton
Wilkes University

sorry that's like hella long. haha

bump. (10 char)

You have a great chance at all the schools. Wilkes is too easy for your credentials.

^I'm using it as my safety pretty much. I actually think I'm automatically accepted because I already go there for young scholars/dual enrollment. U of Scranton is a safety that I'd actually be willing to consider.

46 views and barely any replies :(

you're in at all of them no questions in my opinion.

you need to reach higher girl!! throw in at least a couple more real reach schools in there....more schools on Smith's level...

Well I was considering applying to NYU, but I thought my scores were a little low. I might add more reaches once I get my SAT scores back and see how I did.

more opinions please :D

those schools...if im correct...rnt even in top 50s. ur in, no doubt. add some rank 30s at the very least. aim higher! have more confidence! =)

btw no ones chancing u cuz u dont need to be chanced. ^^

thanks for the reply. I assumed Bates, Bryn Mawr, and Holy Cross were my reaches. I think they're in the top 30's? Not sure though.

Ok...so I really think you have an amazing chance at ALL your schools. I agree with the other posts....maybe try an Ivy....like maybe Brown or Cornell?
Thanks for the post by the way, I appreciate your input!

I hope we both shoot well into the 2000's on those SAT reports on Oct 23rd
(but, whose counting?...lol)
Good Luck...and GO FOR IT! :)
