Last day for TAG!

Don't wait until the last minute to submit your TAG today! It's the last day. Good luck everyone!

I guess it’s official! We are going to be attending a UC next fall

Yes! Which UC did you TAG to?

I sent my TAG to UCSB for Econ.

Its only official if we keep our grades uppp@@

This is the only way my 3.2 gpa would let me slide through into a UC…our whole ACADEMIC CAREER has led up to this ONE POINT guys looool, no pressure, I just dont want to be wearing my UCSB sweater at my CC going “i taggeddd B**CHES” and end up screwing up.

Hey larinaga i put the end date on my application to the 6th month…not 5th…is that still okay? I submitted my tag already should i withdraw it and fix that?

@ConfusedCMHS Yes. I currently have a 3.22, but I’m retaking a class I failed years ago, so it’ll get up to a 3.4 by the end of Fall if I get straight A’s this semester. Do everything you can to get straight A’s and I’ll see you at UCSB next Fall!

Haha, I feel ya about the whole UCSB sweater thing. I’m not going to buy it until I hear back from them in March! I’m nervous as hell even though I’ve met all the requirements. There’s always that tinge of doubt.

I don’t think it matters, but for the sake of being 100 percent accurate I would withdraw and make the correction. It doesn’t hurt, right? :)

Actually I just checked, and my schools AnR calendar says that Spring ends in june…like the beginning…

Anyways…as of now… I have a 3.167.

Iam taking Acctg 101, Econ 101, Poli Sci 101 and PE 168. I need to get an A in accounting and straight Bs…or 2 As in econ n poli sci n 2 Bs. Either way, I’m aiming for straight A’s which will take me to a 3.38.

I didn’t know you had to apply the beginning on your second year thats crazy! Im barely a sophmore, My first year I started out very strong but I slacked a bit because i thought i had another year! So here I am trying to make a sad 3.2 lol.

And yeah, everything on that TAG application is scaring the heck outta me. I heard they are super picky if you screw something up so Im going to review it another 10 times today.

If I dont get into ucsb im not going anywhere else, id rather stay at my CC for another year and reapply…I’ve been to UCSB many times , stayed at my friends dorm, the people are SUPERRRRRRRRRR chill, campus is beautiful, and I just fell in love lol. I’ve been to Irvine too but I didn’t like it, no offense to irvine people but there were kinda nerdy/uptight in the housing section that I was hanging out in.

We have to do this ! No way we can **** up. guacho for life puto!

Haha. I like your spirit. You’re Hispanic? Me too! First generation college student, but not the first in my immediate family. My brother went to USC.

We probably won’t hear back from UCSB until November 1st (that was the date they sent out a TAG confirmation email last year), so it’s going to be an excruciating wait until we hear anything at all from 'SB!

■■■■■ no im Armenian…didn’t see too many armenians at ucsb, besides my friends and his friends lol. But Yeah im the first going to college here in the US. I’m just worried because althought I know its a 100% guarantee, some people have told me they havent gotten in even with all their stuff in order, so im trying to see what mistake i can possibly make on this application that would screw me over and im looking at it over and over again lol.

Haha, I see. Which CC do you go to?

Don’t worry about it if you’ve met all of the requirements. Literally go through each and every requirement on the “Apply for TAG” section of the TAG. If you’ve answered “Yes” to each of those questions, then you’re in!

If your friends got rejected, then it probably means they really didn’t fulfill their requirements for TAG, whether that means major pre-reqs or a specific GPA in those pre-reqs. Certain majors also have specific requirements; like all of the Econ, Engineering, and Biological Science majors.

I’m going to GCC in Glendale…and yeah most people just rush through it and dont give it much thought so they screw up.

I’m doing political science…at first I was doing Econ, but I couldn’t get into business calc as it was full, so I decided to switch to political science to be on the safe side. This semester I’ll be done with my pre reqs for poli sci and I’m basically almost done with my econ classes aswell, i’d just need business calc I think.

I didn’t really ever take cookie cutter classes at this CC either, always took atleast 15 units of challenging courses, except for this semester where I had 15.5 units but dropped Anthopology 101 just to make sure i was more focused. But yeah, I’m sure if I took some Art classes or something I would have definitely had a higher gpa lol.

@larinaga UCSC for Biological Anthropology.

@confused yeah definitely. I’m not too worried though because My GPA is pretty decent. I could get all B’s and I would still be able to TAG. I’m expecting 3 A’s and 2 B’s this semester. 18 units.

Hey, when you guys click on the “Apply For TAG” section, do you still see the “Start TAG Submission” button underneath where it says, “About the Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG)” paragraphs even though we’ve already submitted the TAG?

@ larinaga Yes

Phew. Okay, thanks! Just wanted to make sure it wasn’t something particular to my TAG.

I took some workshops and they appeared on my transcript. Do I also have to put that down? I already submitted my TAG for UCSC, and put all my non-transferable courses as well.

I would. It’s on your transcript. And instructions say to report everything.

So if everything checks out on the tag we’ll know for sure if we’re guaranteed a spot or not sometime in November? Assuming grades are kept up the rest of the year?

Sent from my SGH-T999 using CC

Yup! For UCSB and UCSD it’s different though. They won’t make a decision on your TAG until they receive your grades for the Fall semester. They’ll send out a generic confirmation email sometime between November 1-15 to remind you to fulfill any remaining requirements and to submit a UC app. The other UCs will approve or deny your TAG within that same timeframe.

Quick question I’ve attended 3 different CCC, and these are the dates from first course attended to last course taken at the 3, should I put 5/2013 for the end of Fall 2013 even though I will not be taking a course from there next semester?

9/2010-5/2012
8/2008-7/2012
