Junior this year.

Wow! Fergs, that is a small world. Did you go to high school at the Beach?
Do you want me to bring something from the team for you on I Day? A cap? Towel? Speedo?

Theory, my daughter knows who your friend is. Evidently you have good taste; she thinks he is a sweetheart.

No I did not go to high school there. I was in 3, 4, 5th grades when I lived there. Thank you for the offer beach mom, however I must decline. I am no longer a swimmer. I lost my swimmers body a long time ago. I am a bit more built for football and other contact sports seeing as I am 6' 3" 230#'s bench press 350, squat 535, and leg press almost 1400. I never really was a swimmers body type because I am just naturally a large guy. I think the smallest waist I was when I was swimming was a 36 and I was 6' 185 at the time. But I was good. When I stopped around the age of 14 I was a national top 16 swimmer in multiple events. 400 IM of 4:02, 200 back of 1:56, 200 fly of 1:54, 200 IM of 1:58, 200 free of 1:47, 100 back of 51.4, 100 fly of 50.9. I was very good at one time, however family problems led me to no longer be a swimmer. My parents got divorced and I went through very rough times with a move across the country. I also have grown since then, so that does not help. Oh well, I probably wouldn't have gone to the Naval Academy if I was a swimmer, I probably would have gone to Texas, USC, or Michigan.

Holy crap... at the age of 14... I would kill... geesh.

That is damned impressive right there.

...geesh...

Naval Academy - mumble mumble - presence of greatness - mumble.

I agree (well not a sweatheart, but a very good friend!) :)

I wish your daughter good luck at the Academy. Hopefully Mr. H and I will join her next year!

Back to the origional topic of this thread, today was senior skip day for me, it would have been incrdeible, until my mom came in at 7:30 asking why I wasn't up yet...grrrrrr

haha we had senior skip day today also! I got woken up at 6:15 with my father asking why I wasn't up yet that was upsetting! We start senior exams next thursday...the school year is almost over woohoo!

wait......the way senior cut day is supposed to work is you get up at regular time and meet all of your friends in the parking lot at school and just go to breakfast and then head to the beach.....we students have scheduled 4 cut days hehehehe

yea we were going to go to the beach...and it rained!

Jake had 2 tests on skip day. A kid can't have any fun anymore.

At our school, most of the seniors were talking about planning a Senior Skip Day. So what happens? The administration gets all the seniors to report for a speech from the school rule enforcer. He said that Senior Skip Day is not recognized at our school as a tradition, and we will be punished severely for missing the planned date (not just detention).

Eh...it would have worked out if the new boy hadn't gone to his father (a new teacher) and asked when Senior Skip Day was...

^ Similar experience at our school, about senior skip day. We were told that any mass absences without a doctor's note would be unexcused and detentions or something would be handed out.

Oh, and some of the seniors planned the senior prank to be a food fight in the cafeteria, until everyone was talking about it and the administration sat all the seniors down and promised suspension to anyone involved in the event...gosh, they take away all the fun, don't they?

yea our school is completely different, admin knew about it and did nothing, all the teachers knew about it...they've come to realize we're going to do it and never tried to stop us!

Sis graduates 27-May but, I don't think ANY of the seniors have been "with it" since 1st of May.

Ours was planned BY the administration as an excused absence. Prom was tonight and the beach is about 4 hours away, so going there wasn't going to happen. We are going to the lake tomorrow, well today i guess, hehe.

The beach may be the only thing i miss from living in mississippi, oh well

One more thing, i am exempt from all exams, woooohhhoooo

Our darling daughter is pretty much done with school, and graduation is still 5 weeks away. This week the underclassmen have SOL (Standard of Learning, those state assessments) but seniors don't take them. Seniors who have at least a B in each class don't have to take the final. Since all but one of her classes is AP, she really doesn't have anything to do. Looks like she will be spending a lot of time at the beach.

She may make us nuts before June...

out school just went through all those immigration protests...the closing of school out of safety for a day....then having to ADD a day of school on the friday that had been assigned as a day off ( and it's prom day, which this year for the first time ASB planned on a friday and earlier in the year got school schedules to allow that to be a holiday)

So our district wasn't too open to be lenient about 'senior ditch day'. Our daughter had swim practice and teacher's planned tests...so ...so much for THAT event taking place at our 3600 strong high schoo this year.

Damn only 4 senior skip days. I think my senior year I got 60 or so of those. Granted I also had to apply to actually get those credits from school and graduate, but I had broken my arm earlier in the year very badly and they said no problem.
I honestly think senior year I spent more time at the beach, Dick's drive in, Mr Cue's (pool hall), or just not at school than I did at school. That might explain some of my crappy high school grades. Oh well, I went through the Navy Nuclear Power Pipeline and rocked it out so its all good. It is amazing what you can do when you actually show up to school.

Well, I guess dd is doing a senior skip day--she's headed to KC today to go buy a new cello! Now, if she'd just finish that last paper for me, she could graduate... (when you homeschool, you get to pick your graduation date) ;-)

Last day of classes is May 26th. Last real day of learning was a week ago. Graduation is June 3rd
