Anyone know what the last day to drop a class in the D session is without a "W"? I really don't want a W on my transcript. I think the date is July 30th, according to this website Schedule | Berkeley Summer Sessions. I accept that I will not get a refund, but it doesn't say anything about whether there will be a W or not.

[Change/Drop/Add Courses | Berkeley Summer Sessions](http://summer.berkeley.edu/student-services/change/drop/add-course#Withdrawal)

if it is the last or only course you are dropping for summer, you will have a statement on your transcript that you withdrew - not a W, but something you may need to explain with grad or professional school applications

Thanks for your response. It’s not the last class I’m taking. I’m taking 4 classes in total, and I want to drop one to make it 3. If I drop this class before Friday, July 30 does this mean that my transcript will not note this class at all? Like I was never enrolled in it?

“What the Record Shows A notation of “Withdrew via petition, Summer, 2010” will appear on your UC Berkeley transcript. This notation cannot be removed. The notation is not a “W” grade and will not affect your overall GPA.”

As per the link above.

You don’t want to change to pass/no pass? Probably better than that notation on record.

If yiou still have other classes in summer, then dropping it by the deadline erases it from existence. It is only when you drop the last class for summer that you have to deal with the withdrawal notation.
