If f(2x+1)=2x-1, what is f(x)? I don't get how to do it. Can someone explain? And also, how do you find the area of a triangle if you know one side is two and one angle measure is x, in terms of x? What is it??

Please HELP!!!!!!!

I get x-2 logically. Assuming 2x+1 is x, you must subtract 2 from it to get 2x-1.

I dont think this is a very good question for ETS to use because one can just as easily plug in the x for 2x+1 and get the answer.

Sorry it's late now for the June test, but luckily there was no such question on it.

f(2x+1)=2x-1
t=2x+1
x=(t-1)/2
f(t)=2(t-1)/2-1
f(t)=t-2
f(x)=x-2.

Yes... I was sitting at the desk about to be handed the test book and it hit me. HOW STUPID CAN YOU GET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, well. At least I knew it before the test (even though there were no questions like it :()
