Last minute application question

Hello all,

I hope to transfer from SD City college to UCSD next fall and am obviously a San Diego resident. However, I currently have a GPA of 2.95 and I am well aware that the minimum GPA is 3.0. I have one more class to take in the Spring and plan to get an A thus upping my GPA. My question is, will my GPA not matter until the end of the Spring semester as I have planned coursework ahead or will they see my current GPA and just deny me right off the bat? Thanks for replies!

I should mention it will be a language course that is transferable.

UCSD will admit you based on your GPA by end of Fall Semester meaning you would need a 3.0 minimum after you update the TAU in January. Being a local SD resident does not give you priority like for the CSU’s. If you take a look at the following link, even at the minimum GPA of 3.0, your chances are slim.
