I have gotten most of my UC results so far, and I’m wondering if I’ll get into UCSB based on what I’ve gotten so far.
Quick summary of my stats:
4.0 UC GPA
33 ACT
740 Math II, 720 Chemistry, 730 US History
Most rigorous courseload given what my school offered
Would have taken 6 APs, 4 Honors, and 2 CC Courses by the time I graduate HS
Strong Essays, and good ECs
In-State
Asian Indian Male
Applied for Computer Engineering
My UC Results (so far):
UCB- still waiting, 100% chance of rejection LOL
UCLA- rejected
UCSD- waitlisted
UCD- watlisted
UCI- Accepted for Computer Engineering (first choice)
Since UCI is supposed to be more selective than UCSB, does that mean I have a good chance at getting in there?
UCI has added more freshman housing in Mesa Court and will likely increase instate admission for freshman as a part of the 5000 instate increase for all UC this year. I’m not sure how UCI will appropriate the increase by major or undeclared versus what UCSB may choose to do. UCSB is ranked slightly higher than UCI and UCSD (37th versus a tie for 39) by US News, so it may slighly more selective this year. UCSB had a 10.3% increase in applications while UCI had 10.1% increase in applications this year. That being said, your stats look very good. Good luck to you!

UCB (waiting)
@Katecat27 You’re in, since you got the chancellor’s invite.
@VRSanctum Probably a Match for you
What do you guys think of my chances?
@QuiteAverage90
I’m not sure. I didn’t get the meet your counsellor email if that means anything.
I’d say you look competitive but honestly the UCs are always pretty odd.
@Katecat I’ve heard that getting the chancellor’s invite means that you got accepted, and that at the actual reception, they tell everyone there of this.
