I applied to all my schools early action, being accepted to Fordham and Villanova, and deferred from Notre Dame, Georgetown, and Boston College. Please chance me on my deferred schools. Thanks so much

This is way I view getting waitlisted. The people on the list ahead of you, in all probablity got accept to more schools and better ones. Therefore if lets say 3 out of 10 people accepted dont go to Georgetown,BC etc that opens up a lot of doors for you. However you were waitlisted, soo its anyone’s guess but I think you get into one of those schools

3 deferrals means nothing jumped off your app for the adcoms in the EA round, and generally the odds get tougher in the RD round. Notre Dame, Boston College, Georgetown with very solid EC’s, 34 ACT, 3.6GPA (little low) along with impressive essays (were they?) would be at least in range. My speculation would be that perhaps 1 of the 3 (bc?) will come through if you are fortunate.

Does it help if my aunt is a graduate of Notre Dame, and currently teaches at Georgetown Law? Or if I currently have cousins at both Georgetown and Notre Dame?
Also, I have taken four years of Business Course: Accounting 1, Accounting 2 Honors, Finance Honors, and Economics, maintaining an A average in every course. I’m applying directly into business, so will that hurt or help me?

^ I would consider those positive factors but if they were not determinitive in the EA round its hard to predict they will put you over in the RD round. You certainly are in the mix at all three of these schools or you would have been rejected instead of deferred. As I said previously, my guess is that you have a reasonable chance to receive a positive admission outcome.

Thanks, of all the schools i visited (all but Notre Dame) i disliked Boston College so hopefully I get into Georgetown or Notre Dame, either of which, depending on money, i would probably go to. However, when comparing Villanova and Fordham, which do you think is better? Villanova’s business school was ranked 7th by Businessweek, while Fordham’s was ranked 52nd. But Fordham’s Starting Salary was higher and I feel like NYC is a much better location (my career goal is to become a sports agent, so im hoping to intern at a major agency) for job opportunities.

I feel like you have a good shot at Georgetown if your’e a legacy. Notre Dame may be a bit more of a stretch but it is a legacy school to some degree. BC is a toss up since your almost there but don’t have the connections as you do with the other two.

Villanova is nice, no idea about Fordham sorry.
