<p>I posted this in the Princeton section already, but I'm new at this posting business so, if I'm correct, I can post this again here? :</p>

<p>Hey, I've been lurking for a loooong time on this forum, and I find that many of the posters are intelligent, articulate and helpful. Thanks to all those people for providing such a useful resource.</p>

<p>Ok so anyway, I'm finally posting. I applied to a slew of schools and am hearing back in 2 weeks, but i just kind of wanted to ask what people thought my chances were. Here's my stats:</p>

<p>GPA: 4.12 W, probably 3.6 UW
Rank: top decile, my school doesnt rank
SATs: 1530 old (800 verbal), 2330 new (800 verbal and writing)
SAT IIs: 800 USH, 800 Bio, 790 Lit (god this is tedious to list)</p>

<p>courses: all APs, in every subject, the usual heavy courseload for a competitive public school. I've taken 6 AP exams and gotten four 5s and two 4s (Physics, Lang, Bio, USH, Euro, French Lang)</p>

<p>ECs: mostly writing, founded my own alternative paper, edit school paper, Quizbowl team, hospital volunteer, edit Lit mag, tutor. They're not very impressive.</p>

<p>possible hook: I'm mixed race, half Native American. Also I submitted a writing portfolio, which my english teacher and guidance counselor liked</p>

<p>Anyone willing to read this boring post, thanks in advance. If you could help me out with a few comments, on my chances at Princeton, UPenn, Chicago, Northwestern, UCBerkeley, Columbia and Brown that would be awesome. If not, cool anyway cuz i love this forum</p>

<p>flippy: i would say his chances are better than that given that he's half native-american. admitted to all except maybe princeton and columbia.</p>

<p>Regardless of your Native American status, you are a great applicant. The only problem is your unweighted GPA, which is a little low. Good luck! I hope you get into all your schools :).</p>

<p>yea my gpa is low. If it helps any, my school doesn't release unweighted gpas, just weighted ones and decile rankings. I get mostly A-s, plus a few As, and 2 Bs junior year, in math and science courses (outside my area of interest).</p>

<p>Flippy has pretty much nailed your chances I think, though the half Native American thing may give you that little extra to get you into all those slight reaches and that one big reach.</p>
