In short, I'm from New Jersey. I'm applying to a bunch of schools on the East Coast, primarily the New England area. All are pretty much tiny LACs, but I thought I should add something different. I'd like to apply to one or two schools in California for a change. I'm not sure if I would go or not, but something in my gut is just telling me to apply! Well anyway I'm done with all my apps at the moment and have plenty of time to finish up one or two more.

The downside is I'm a pretty average student. Here are my stats.

Female
White

Public school in NJ
~1200 kids?
mildly competitive

GPA: 3.5 (uw)
SAT: 1st CR:550, W: 590, M:590, 1760
2nd 610 620 600, 1830

APs:
History: 4
Psychology: 4
Gov: 5
Bio: 3
I don't even know if I should report these.

EC's ... which kinda suck.
Model Congress, 3 years
French Club, 4 years, president
Student Council, 3 years
NHS, more like a filler really
French Honor Society
100+ community service hours

Senior Schedule
AP European
AP World History
Calculus Honors
AP English Lit
Anatomy & Physiology Honors
AP French Language

Private or public doesn't really matter to me. Unfortunately I'm too late to apply to any UCs. Any suggestions would be wonderful! Also, my intended major will be history.

Redlands University?

Here are a few schools to look into further, all privates: Santa Clara, USF, Chapman, Mills, Saint Mary’s College of California, Whittier, University of the Pacific, Redlands, LMU. What other schools are you applying to, if I may ask? What type of a school is it that ou’re looking for?

Occidental and Pitzer. Hopefully Pitzer still has the whole “you don’t have to submit your SATs” policy.
And Oxy because all though your stats are lower than the average for the school, I don’t think its unrealistic>

There’s also LMU USF USD.

I just noticed I I used “Editions” in place of “Additions.” Don’t kill me guys!

Anyway here on the East Coast I’m applying to:
Fairfield
Quinnipiac
Loyola (MD)
Endicott
Seton Hall

as well as publics:
Rutgers
Temple
UDel

Thank you everyone for your responses. I barely know anything about California colleges so I’ll definitely be sure to do some research on the ones suggested. More would also be nice! :)

If you like the 5 college consortium thing though, what about Scripps? I second USD. Unfortunately, California’s higher ed isn’t teeming with private colleges because of the success of the UCs and the CSUs.

I heard Quinnipiac is pretty bad… Had two friends who went there and transferred out after a semester.

*Santa Clara, USF, Chapman, Mills, Saint Mary’s College of California, Whittier, University of the Pacific, Redlands, LMU. What other schools are you applying to, if I may ask? What type of a school is it that ou’re looking for? *

Agree with many of the choices except Santa Clara. It’s become a reach for many/most. However, if you went to a Catholic high school and can pay the $50k per year, then *maybe * apply since SCU is need aware and gives priority to grads from Catholic Highs.

You could also add U San Diego.

HOWEVER…do you know how much your parents are willing to pay each year towards your education?

I would say that Pitzer is also a reach, as it has seen a recent surge in applications and last year took a large percentage of its incoming class from the ED pool.
