Last Minute HELP! 3 more days

3 more days left... i thought i already decided to go to wellesley, but as i was looking at the nyu admission letter ready to reject admission, i hesitate to sign it. am i making a mistake not going to stern? still 3 more days to decide... the happiness on my face that day when i got this big envelope from nyu, knowing i was accepted, trembling with excitement.. i almost feel a tinge of regret if i was to reject. i donnno why i feel this way... oh please help me. convince stern is bad, because everything i read is good, and i keep asking "am i making a mistake?"

Well how much is money a concern?
If you want to go into business then I would say Wellesly would be a mistake... but thats just my two cents.

so if i want to go into business... there's no way i should go to wellesley? im totally leaning toward international business. funny... since i rejected umich as well

according to usnews, nyu is #2 for international business...

don't worry though, I'm sure you'll have a great experience and great opportunies at either school

arg!!!!! oh well... i stood next to the mail box for 2 minutes, and then finally let go of the handle... good bye stern. maybe in 4 more years

why the heck did you choose wellesly

if you are SURE you want to do business, Stern all the way. Having wall st at your backyard isnt too shabby either ^^.

no one is going to convince me stern is bad :(? i wonder if i can climb into the mailbox and get it out before the mailtruck comes to pick the letters out.... or maybe i should call them... gee so hard to decide... i wanted to transfer from wellesley to wharton since wellesley do really well on ivygrad/transfer enrollment %... but then... if i dont get into wharton... is it illegal to fish ur letter out from a mailbox?

i think you'd be hardpressed to find somebody on the NYU board to persuade you that stern is bad haha...

also, i think choosing a college to go to for its transfer options is kind of shady.

stern doesnt have as good a gradenrollment "feederschool" kind of thing as wellesley... so thats a minus for stern, rite?

Stern kids don't need grad enrollment most of the time...sry...

I won't say don't go ahead with your plan but another worthy alternative could be to just do well and enjoy your 4 years at Wellesley (or NYU or whatever.) Wellesley is an excellent school and you can get a quality education there with all that such an education does for your future.

there's no comparison- wellesley is liberal arts, stern is preprofessional...most stern people start working straight out of school

really? most people start working right out of undergrad from stern? what would be their starting salary then? do they have as a good a chance to get into top positions/really high pay? y else do people go to grad school? i mean.. i can start "working" for 40k/year but thats not really what i want my life to be like... i'd rather go to grad school and come out making 100k/year for starter

i guess i can stay in wellesley... they have a pretty high feeder score for harvard business/other elite grad so i can hope for that

To put it in perspective: Wharton is also the terminal education point for around 80% (i think this is the figure, not 100% sure, but a vast majority nonetheless) of its students. Their starting salary is about 57K, which is not much higher than Stern's 52K. Would you say that Wharton graduates are trapped and never recieve the high paying salary you so obviously treasure?

stern graduates also have a huge annually percentage increase in salary, ive talked to some alumni, and i have yet to find one making under 100k after 10 years.

you can call up usps and tell them not to deliver your letter.

I have friends that are graduating this semester from Stern (Finance and managment major) that are going to make 100K to start.

what was there rank, where are they workin?

also, many MBA programs greatly prefer, and if i'm not mistaken, some may require, a few years of work experience before you enroll in their program

well.. if you want to go to NYU, let them know you've sent in deposit to wellesley but you'd rather go to NYU, and they'll probably let you deposit, and then call wellesley and see if they can not deposit your check.
