If you had the opportunity to spend one day in New York City with a famous New Yorker, who would it be and what would you do? (Your New Yorker can be anyone - past or present, fictional or non-fictional - who is generally associated with New York City; they do not necessarily have to have been born and raised in New York City.)
As the self-proclaimed lover to New York City, Carrie Bradshaw, from the New York City based television show Sex and the City, would give me a perceptive tour of the great city. By avoiding the tourist-infested spots, I would gain insight into the soul of the city, rather than experiencing the city from a superficial view. We would start off with breakfast at a snug coffee shop, where she would tell me how it felt to live in the heart of the city whilst doing what she loves. We would also indulge in girl talk, sharing stories of past boyfriends. The rest of the day would be spent on her helping me get familiar with the city. By day’s end, I would know which street vendors sold the best hot dogs and using the subway would no longer seem like an enigmatic mess.

Please tell us what led you to select your anticipated academic program and/or NYU school/college, and what interests you most about your intended discipline.
After watching my best friend struggle with the plight of severe acne for the past four years, I developed a passion to become a dermatologist. Skin problems are an issue familiar to many people, but it is not considered a serious enough medical problem as to receive much attention. My goal is to one day find a non-addictive treatment that can be used by all people to, if not completely clear acne, at least ameliorate the embarrassment and destruction of self-esteem it causes.
