New to posting. I would love MIT and I have to decide now to apply because of the interview deadline thing. Do I have a chance at all.
-Just took SAT in November-standby-last minute decision-first SAT-didn't study much and got a 2030 which I know isn't the best.
-Took SAT subject tests last weekend in Bio M, Lit, and Math II and should probably have hit the 700+ mark.
-ACT in October and have a 30, again not the best but I'm retaking this on Saturday
-I'm white girl from Arizona if that would help at all
-I'm a bit younger than the average applicant 16
-SERIES Ballet dancer probably at least 30+ hours a week on that and home-schooled the past year because of ballet, spent time at School of American Ballet(School for New York City Ballet) and American Ballet Theatre(very competitive)
-when I was at high-school I had 4.0 gpa and ranked 2 out of five hundred something no APs offered
-I'll have completed Calc I, II, and III, and (differential equations or linear algebra), Humanities, and Chemistry at Community College
-no awards or competitions
-I would probably interview very well and I'd have very strong essays

Your situation is very unique in multiple ways. I don’t think anyone here can give any insight at all into your chances. You should definitely apply.

yes, if you like it enough you should apply. I don’t think people on CC can give you feasible insight because they are not admission officers.

Your unique situation makes it hard to judge… I’d apply(:

? This doesn’t sound like a strange case at all to me. Depending on how the SAT score is broken down, you could be fine there, or you might want to retake. You certainly have interesting ECs. You should apply ^_^

You should be aware, if you’re not already aware, that the deadline for contacting interviewers is December 10. As long as you contact your interviewer by Saturday, you’re in the clear.

Thanks for the input, I appreciate it. I think I’ll give it a shot because it could really go either way. I’m sure this has been answered a thousand times, but could I still take the SAT on the January test date?

I was wondering if there was a deadline to actually have the interview.
I was contacting my interviewer and I would prefer an interview later…but then we have Christmas and the New Year. I read somewhere the interview had to be conducted before the 20th, is that true?

Well…no. You could have it after January 1st. If that works for your EC.

While MITChris is correct, the deadline for EC’s to submit their reports on the interview is 6 January this year. With some notice, I have seen reports get in a week late and the interview still counted. So while Chris is correct that the interview could take place after 1 January, it should be noted that that means RIGHT after 1 January. That being said, I know of two January interviews in my region this year, both in that first week.
