How do I increase my Verbal score on SAT in one week? Any tips or advice how to ace the verbal section?

arggg!! i too need some last minute tips on verbal!

A week won't count for much. I'd just relax.

the PR book have about 20 pages of words you could learn in a week. Some of them do show up on the test (they did on the PSAT).

120 points
i raised my verbal score during 3-5 days from 650 to 770. Even after the test, i could help other people and still get the right answer. The 770 wasn't a fluke.

how did you do it, imiracle?

Yeah thats pretty encourage

wth? 650 to 770?

how?!??!

my verbal score also increased more than 100 points between 2 sittings (from the 600s to the 700s).

the best advice i can give to you is

do not waste your time studying vocab- if you want to memorize stuff, buy one of those webster dictionary books that are organized by roots and read it...even if the words there won't show up, learning how to dissect a word will surely help you (i know it helped me)

on reading passages where the authors bring in lots of different ppl and opinions, as you are reading make a list of the ppl and just write what each one's opinion is...this saves you a lot of time and you won't get so confused- using this method was definitely why i got in the 98th percentile this time around (last time i was in i think the 83rd)

if you are confused with the sentence completions, skip what you cant do and come back later but if you are confused with passage questions, only skip within the questions for that passage- don't come back after reading a different passage

that's all i can think of now. hope this helps!

Thank you for the tips, wisywigi :D
