So I registered for the June SAT's in Literature, Math 2, and French way back months ago, thinking I'd be prepared for them in time for the actual test date. Well, it looks like I overestimated my work ethic, and while I know I'll be fine on Lit and Math 2... French is going to flat out kick my ass if I take it tomorrow. Like a 500-range score, yes, that bad. I know I can change tests on the day of, but I don't know if I'm prepared for anything else.. besides maybe Math 1. Would it technically count as 3 subject tests for schools that want 3 if I take Lit, Math 1, and Math 2? Should I at least just go take Math 1 tomorrow and then maybe throw a more legit 3rd test in there in the fall? I know there's no way I can take French and I'm not really sure what to do at this point.

Don’t take Math 1 and Math 2, pick only one! Otherwise its a waste of time. The point of taking different SAT IIs is you show colleges your proficiency in a VARIETY of different subjects, so math plus more math does not show your uber skills in versatility.

Check collegeboard to see their policies. You might be able to cancel one test (with a fee though) or change tests. I’m not sure.

Well, I already paid for my three tests for June, and knowing that I’m only adequately prepared for two of them (Math 2 and Lit), would throwing Math 1 in there hurt me? Or would it just be kind of a wasted hour, because I’d rather kill time than kill my ego by getting a 400 on the French test lol…

Imo, take math 2 first, if you think you did good, don’t take Math I, just take the lit and leave

If I were you, I would just take Math 1 instead of French.

Thanks for the input guys!

I think I’ll just take Lit first because I’ll do better on it if I’m fresh and energized, then use Math 1 second as a warm-up for Math 2 third. I’ll study over the summer and take French or US History or something like that in November for a more legitimate third option. Crisis averted for now!

Heres a helpful hint. After you finish Math I, (you should finish early), go onto math ii. ;)

Are you even allowed to take both math tests on one day?

yea (10 char)

Don’t worry, take french. If you do bad, your scores wont be shown on your report according to new collegeboard policy. You can take it again oct/nov if you do bad. good luck

I ended up taking U.S. History on a whim and I think I did alright. Definitely retaking that and Math in November though!
