Does anyone know if the people attending the last orientation will get the worst schedule? I'm worried I won't be able to get the classes that I need to take since I'll be going to the last orientation.

they probably reserve a certain amount of seats…

That’s what I was thinking, hope it’s true!

Are there a good amount of OOS students at the August(last) orientation?

You will not have as many choices as those attending earlier orientations. They do hold some spots, but not enough. My son went to the last one last year, just because it was the only one that fit into his schedule. He managed to get what he needed. You may have a weird schedule first semester, but remember, it’s only for a semester. Also, if you don’t get what you need, don’t panic! Many classes will have openings later during adds and drops. Just be diligent and check often. Good luck!

I thought you scheduled the courses for your entire year at this orientation?

Its only for a semester?

Yup, it’s only the first semester. You will schedule spring in November

Wow awesome!

I hope i don’t get a dumb roommate though. I heard your roommate is decided by choosing the closest person in line to you that doesn’t already have a roommate.

:/

lol now that sounds funny

Its going to be very very awkward…

They just assign roomates for orientation as you sign in. If you know someone who will be there, check in together and you can be roomates. Otherwise, if you don’t like him/her, it’s just for a few days.

A few days? lol One year is more than a few days

no hes referring to that night, lol you have to stay 1 night… (if this is a 2 day orientation)

Wasted,

They do not assign your frosh year roommate at orientation. They will take someone near you in line and assign them for orientation.

The housing dept. will assign you a roommate for the year later. Orientation has no bearing on that.

If oyu have a friend going to orientation get on line with them and you can live together. Also, I presume you can go on Facebook and look for a room mate for the year their. My d found her room mate on Facebook last year. It worked out pretty well. They were both OOS students.

Good Luck

Ohhhh ok i understand now, thanks everyone! <3

To answer the original question: Probably not.
I went to Fall orientation as a freshman and got all the classes and times I wanted.
