I have been getting really good scores for the past 3 years, all A's but this junior year of my high school. I messed up a little bit. I have an avg of 70% Though I have not finished my final exams yet. But I guess Universities will evaluate my last 2 exams of junior year. The exams I had, Total marks for each subject was 40 but my final exam has 100 marks for each suject. I have Phy, Chem, Eng, Comp, Maths as my subjects.

If i get a good score on SAT and SAT subject tests Do I stand a chance?

I have chosen:
1. University of Arizona
2. University of Mussori Rolla
3. University of Texas " austin
4.University of Michigan
5. Purdue
6.MIT or Princeton(I dont think i would get in these :( )

If you are applying for fin aid then these don't award aid(if they do it's very very less.)
1. University of Arizona
2. University of Mussori Rolla
3. University of Texas " austin
4.University of Michigan
5. Purdue

man leave the aid out I will manage that later somehow, what about my chances?

how have u chosen these????????????????

each of those have nearly different cultures, not even nearly same environment!!

can u fit in any env or u are fine with so many environments bcoz u have so many sides of personality.?

look at you, pton and MIT! they are so damn different. you shud figure out the place u wanna be! and atmosphere that is rite for u!

if u can picture yerself welll, so will the adcoms and ull get in. this if done oppositely can backfire.

best of luck as u pursue your education!

If you can manage aid
Purdue: Safety
UT Austin: Match
UMich: Match
Dunno about rest two

and also, u seem like a person who work for resumes! as i judged from yer past posts.

you will never b happy dat way i bet!

i can name a student who got in MIT with scores all below 700 in SAT 1, 257 toefl and maths subject test of 610. no olympiads, no awards. all he had was passion for 1 thing and he was clearly workin for it since childhood. he couldnt get that out. and thats what ot him in.

plz dont work things out to get in college, work things out for passion, u will b happier that way!

and U of arizona is a safety if u get scores even in 400 and 500 on SAT. all they look is this in internationals!

I believe in what you said, I am just curious that will my Class XI scores affect very adversely..nothing else..

anyways thanks I appreciate your reply.
Cheers!

70% is bad, you could have done much better as seen from your activities. See SAT dont tell much story as every genius need not be a goo d test taker. But yer % is like from a 3 hr subjective paper. its knowledge based completelty. Also you are brought up in that atmosphere, so its kinda low i say.

70% is like ....... try doin better 12th mid-terms and preboards. thats all i can say here. which board are you? if ISC/CBSE, then i think u are in a prob, if UP board or somthin, then its fine.

But yer decision will be made on you, MIT is committed to admit people, not numbers. if YOU are gud, they will have u there, otherwise not!

best of luck for 12th. if u do like 90% or better, it will look gud!

I will try and maintain a 90% above scores from now on till I submit my application. BTW its not just me who has got these kind of marks in my school. The teachers set the paper in this way that no one scores well...I am not justifyn or anything...

I have good recommendation letters from teachers of almost all subjects and an by our Electrical Science professor. That is a co-curricular activity in our school.

Lets see what happens...CHEERS!

If your class average is low, you have a slightly better chance. For example, in a class whose highest score is a 72, a 70 is still good.

Work hard for the 12th, anyway.

Well will I have to state my class score too? Beacuse in my school transcripts they dont allot a rank or print the highest marks of the class...
