Female
Applying for fall 2010
International student
Do not require financial aid

Major :-
Engineering (Undecided. Mostly Mechanical engineering )

Stats :-
SAT (taken 2 times , third time in october)
1st try 1400
2nd try 1570

High school overall Grade = B-

E.C's - ( Does partying count ?? )

A few participation certificates , that's all

University requirement :-
1)Top notch engineering
2)Excellent internships (surrounded by companies such as Boeing , Microsoft and other top notch engineering-related firms )
3)Very good credit system (A hopeful transfer to UC-Berkley/UMich/Other top engineering schools after the second year)
4)Good job placements
5)Low cost (overall package of Tuition+Room+Books+Meals for international students. Something near a 18-29K Max )
6)Good professors

I know that I have screwd up my high school statistics , as I mostly slacked off (but still managed a disgraceful B-) . But now I am willing to work hard at an average-good institution in the US and aim for the 4.0 GPA so that I can transfer to an excellent institution (MIT/Caltech/Stanford) in the US . Please suggest a few Reaches - That are with in my range , Matches - Which fit my statistics perfectly and a few safeties - where i am sure to get in .

Should fulfill all the above criteria (If not , at least 1,2 and 5)

Thanks a lot for your Co-operation . I hope I am not irritating anyone by having made a similar post in the past.

I really need your help.

B u m p ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

Are your SAT scores out of 1600 or 2400?

I hate to say this but I think you have too many requirements. Most engineering schools are going to be pricey (much, much higher than 29 K) and many schools (especially the ‘average’ ones) are stingy with the money they give to international students. I highly doubt that you are going to get a Tuition+Room+Books+Meals package. Many (if not most) applicants from the US who are extremely competitive don’t get that, let alone international students.

Plus, I don’t meant to dishearten you, but there are a LOT of very competitive applicants from India.

Please don’t take this to mean there’s no hope - of course there is, there always is, I’m applying to several places where I have very little chance of getting in - I just want to give you a reality check.

firstly My SAT score is out of 2400. (I don’t know i should laugh at myself or cry !) .

I do not require financial aid ! … (but I initially want to go to a university providing decent or a good engineering degree and then try to transfer to a better university . My overall tuition+meals+room+books range is a maximum of 30K . Are there any universities in the US that match me requirements ? , where I can get in ?

Thanks

Look at:
UBuffalo [University at Buffalo](http://www.buffalo.edu/)
Stonybrook [Stony Brook University, Stony Brook, New York](http://www.sunysb.edu)
SUNY Binghamton [Binghamton University - Home](http://www2.binghamton.edu)

These are all NY state schools, but their tuition is relatively inexpensive, even if OOS. They are all well regarded.
