I got the admission from Cal, but I'm getting bad grades in this semester
three classes...two B and one C...
will Cal take back the admission from me?

Best bet is to immediately let your admissions officer know. Tell them what’s been going on to make you get those less than wonderful grades. It’s better if you call them (they’ll find out eventually and by calling them first it let’s them know that you’re serious and not trying to hide anything from them).

They technically could take it back, but in practice I’ve heard that it rarely happens unless you have serious grade issues and don’t have any valid reasons. They want you - that’s why you were accepted.

I look around berkeley’s website, but I can’t find any information…
what’s the require gpa of last semester? anyone knows?
somebody told me I need to keep at least 3.0
but someone said for engineering major, 2.0 is enough
btw…my major is industrial engineering

Hey Ryan, after you complete your SIR, go to your myBerkeleyApplication, and view your “myChecklist.” Then go to “Official Transcripts/Records Required,” and afterwards click the Conditions of Admission where it says “See your Conditions of Admission for your required documents.” There you will see all the academic requirements in order to go to CAL.

To answer your question specifically, read rule 3:

“You must complete all UC-transferable courses in progress or planned with an overall B average, with no grade lower than a C. Immediately contact your Admissions Officer if you will not be able to meet this condition.”

Finally, towards the bottom it states:

"Your admission to Berkeley is subject to cancellation if:

* You do not satisfy all of the above conditions, or
- Any information you submitted does not agree with official documentation."

So technically, you are getting a B average and no grade lower than a C as rule 3 stipulates, so you should be fine. Although it’d probably be best if you get that C to a B, in case they say 2 B’s and 1 C is not a B average…

Anyways, I wish you the best of luck.

thanks Onigenghiskhan, I submit my sir and saw it already
I work five nights per week this semester
and the classes are harder than before
but for the last 3 weeks
I’m do my best to have a 3.0 a least…

Ah, I know exactly how you feel. I work full-time right now and am taking two classes, with one having a grade of A+, and the other having a grade of a C-… So I totally understand you. But school for me is over in 2 weeks! Then finally, I’ll be able to return triumphantly to a University! Muahahaha!

If you can keep a B average and not fail a class, don’t tell your admissions officer and alert Cal to your situation unnecessarily. But if you ARE going to fail a class, talk to your officer now because you can probably arrange to repeat it over the summer.

Onigenghiskhan, r u going to Cal also?

Kurenai325, I’m not gonna fail, the worse situation is 2 Bs and a C…
do u think I need to report that?
