I got the positions after winning all the awards at regionals. Basically, we went to competition in MT and Debate, and I won all of the MT awards, so they elected me president when we got back to school. I got VP in sort of the same way; we didn’t go to competition in Debate, but while we were practicing, our (me and my teammate) ideas and arguments were really well developed, since we spent hours on them. My teammate was elected pres, and I was elected VP.

Do you think adding Model UN would be a good idea?

I would personally recommend adding Model UN because it is an incredibly fun experience, and there is a lot to learn. Pure preparation in Model UN will not give you a gavel, nor will simply having good speaking skills. It takes a bit of extra skill to succeed, and the learning process is great, imo.

Right now, I’m looking at showing my focus on two core areas: science/mathematics and speech/debate. Under science and math, I’ll have stuff like my research and Mu Alpha Theta. Speech and debate will be MT, debate, MUN, etc.

And piano will be separate, I guess.

I’m also dropping SGA.

Now, as I said, I’ll probably lose my leadership junior year, since I"m moving to a new school. Would I be able to indicate why I lost my leadership in junior year in my application? Would it be looked down upon?
