It’s really hard to so dude. You’re URM + first generation but your scores aren’t so hot. I would say your reaches are georgetown, u mich, rice, vanderbilt, northwestern, and maybe nyu.

i’m going to agree with above two posters, but please tell me you applied to some matches and safeties.

I applied to UCF and FSU

Your GPA isn’t “bad”–I think that posting was too harsh. It’s just not top notch. But with your GPA you stand a good chance of getting into your matches, as the previous person said-- and maybe some reaches. What really weakens your submission are your AP scores. Your SAT scores aren’t great, but they aren’t horrible. If it’s not too late to say this, do not submit any AP score under a 3. (I’m pretty sure you don’t have to submit if you don’t want.) The thing is, even though sometimes colleges choose randomly, often they don’t; if you’re not selected to be in a certain college, there’s a reason for it. No crime in that. I’m a firm believer that you can do well whichever college you end up going to–it depends on how hard you work, and so on. Good luck–.

oh that’s good to know…

I think I’m really nervous now!

I’m sorry to say that I think you have very low chances at Northwestern, Emory, Georgetown, NYU, and Rice (and maybe UMich or Vanderbilt)… your GPA, SAT scores, and AP scores are all on the low end for these schools.

So extracurricular do not hold any weight? or teacher recs, or anything outside the numbers?

anyone else?

i’m so sorry

for what? lol

Syracuse-Idk

Boston University-IDK

Extracurriculars and recommendations certainly do hold weight… but the first thing colleges look at is your transcript, and they use test scores to help confirm whether or not you are a motivated/academically sound student.

anyone else want to contribute?

I got into Northeastern! idk if that helps.

Honestly, your AP scores are really going to drag you down. A lot of AP courses is good, but getting as many 1s and 2s as you did really demonstrates that you didn’t get what you needed to out of the class

I find out within the next 3 weeks!

So keep me occupied and give me your opinions!
