Advice from last year always have hope, faith and be active in the process. Clemson was my daughters #1 choice she even applied on the very first day in Aug when application opened and being waitlisted last yr was a very emotional and tough situation. Yet an important life lesson. The day after she received her wait list letter she signed up for the waitlist. We had real heart wrenching discussions as a waitlist is no guarantee. When we asked admissions for 2016 , we were told no one came off the list. It was a very challenging 2+months from mid -Feb until May . Many of her friends and classmates were celebrating and posting all over social media their letters , balloons etc. She found a roommate, paid her deposit for her #2 school. If your child wants to come off the wait list he or she must contact CU admissions officer is important and any contacts you have in their major department. They expect to hear from the students. Last year in 2017 when we asked we were told about 200 names were offered acceptances off the WL. She received one of those being accepted and the received the awesome news in May, she loves being a Tiger! Remember it’s a business and the school is filling seats in the class, when students select and make their deposits committing to their schools, colleges get actual numbers and can determine if any spaces remain. Clemson is first class and does an outstanding job of new student orientation , transition etc.
Good to hear. Clinging to hope here. Thanks!
Clinging to hope here also. Son was offered spring admission which he accepted. But we are hoping and praying a spot comes open for August so he can begin with everyone else.
Found out today that my daughter made it off waitlist for start this Fall. While the timeline is a little short (notification by May 11), she is thrilled and ready to go!
Congrats, don’t wait with the process, pay your deposits, start deciding on roommate(s), determine your housing preferences some find there roommates on the FB page for CU class , or CU search. Welcome to the Tiger family
