Late Alumni Interviews

I'd like to here from current students of harvard/past alumni/this year's applicants on

whether late alumni interviews have any significance at all to admission decisions.

I've was contacted for an alumni interview on March 7th, and I've been roaming about

several threads since then, quite surprised at others (confused like I am) who received late

interviews like I did. Anyway, can anyone tell me what is going on?

oh my god! no replies at all? come on!! help me out here

This question has come up several times in the last few weeks, and the answer is, yes, late alum interviews can have an impact. I’ve done interviews late, and have been asked follow-up questions by admissions officers. Harvard doesn’t like to waste alum’s time or possibly miss out on excellent applicants.

No one but admissions officers can tell you whether getting a late interview means that admissions officers have a special interest in you, however.

I had my harvard interview just TWO DAYS AGO.

I feel like that means I’m not outright rejected. like, why would they scramble to do an interview so late if they weren’t interested? but who knows. I havent seen too much success with colleges so far, so it seems unlikely that i was actually accepted

read this thread from last year: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/harvard-university/681646-significance-late-multiple-harvard-interviews.html?highlight=late+interview

thanks northstarmom and stupefy! :)

@Stupefy: same here, I haven’t seen that much success in college admission…

I just hope that the late interview from harvard meant something special…or at least

the fact that im considered :)
