I applied to Rutgers on Christmas -_-
I just found out about the school and decided to apply. After i submitted my APP, i looked and it says priority deadline 12/1. I thought they were January - im out of state, california to be exact. No one in my school applied to Rutgers.. at least from what I heard.

Will my application still be considered?

What happens now..

My credentials aren't that great.. 3.1 gpa UW, weighted = 3.61
sats: 1460 -_- yeah yeah i know, i dont like tests.
super good extras..

As an out-of-state student, you may not have the advantage over someone who is in-state, but you still have a chance. (BTW, is your SAT score out of 1600 or 2100?)

The “priority deadline” just means that you will have to wait a bit longer for a decision since everyone else before you has priority. Doesn’t necessarily mean automatic rejection.

And I’m curious, vivianz from California, why Rutgers? lol. I remember when I was searching for colleges there were 3 on the west coast that I loved, but in reality knew I wouldn’t be able to be that many miles away from my family or I would go crazy!!!

im quite nervous I was born in New York and still have family there- i love the east coast. Rutgers seems like a really good school to start fresh!

When the decisions come out, will they be posted on that website we use our RUID for?
Last question! For the application status, what are the terms used there? (e.g admitted, pending ect)

Next to each school you applied to (if you applied to more than one), you should see:

“admitted” and “not admitted” = self explanatory.
“pending” or “in process” = meaning they have yet to view your application

Considering that you are applying out-of-state anyway, have you considered any schools in New York? Where in New York (state or city) are your family located? I could suggest other schools that are just as reputable if you’d like.

Okay, this might sound like a stupid question but is that SAT score you posted out of 1600 or 2100?

I’m assuming it’s out of 2100 since you stated that you aren’t good on tests, but I’m just making sure – especially since this website tend to have kids who think a 1500 out of 1600 is a terrible score 0_o
