I am currently in ninth grade at a public high school. Recently I have become interested in applying to Phillips Exeter or Phillips Andover, however I soon realized it is past the deadlines for applications. I also realized that Exeter has a late applicant round. What are my odds of getting accepted in a late applicant round considering the following:

Mostly A's- 11.0 gpa
All Honors courses
AP world history
Wrestling
Debate
Key Club
Spanish Club
Need Financial aid
Out of state

Any advice, comments, or tips would be greatly appreciated thank you

And that’s where it goes to heck in a handbasket! Late admissions, yes. Late financial aid, almost no chance. The financial aid budget is used, in its entirety, for the first round of applicants. If a financial aid applicant turns down an offer, those funds are quickly reallocated to someone else on the waiting list.

I would strongly suggest looking at schools other than Andover and Exeter. It is possible that you might find financial aid funds still available at some of the smaller, less talked about schools.

Again, nothing is impossible, but I wouldn’t get your hopes up for a financial aid offer from any of the more prestigious schools if you’re a late applicant.

Hello Everybody,
This is my first post so excuse me for my mistakes. So, I know I’m a bit late for these schools but I heard that there is still chance for acceptance and no chance for financial thing. I am currently a 10th grade high-school student in Turkey and I am a U.S citizen and will be applying for 11th grade. Our educational system is a little bit different than U.S’s. However our academic language in school is English. I would like to keep it short and indicate my overall background:

4.91/5.00 86.94/100 GPA 9th grade
4.88/5.00 87.52/100 GPA 10th grade mid-year
Volleyball ( school team )
Tennis
Shooting
Piano
Programming ( Small basic and little bit C)

I am also elected as the best english speaker in school and going to represent my school in a prestigious traditional conference called ELT, this March.
I am in top %1 in whole nation, detected by a national version of “SSAT” and won %100 scholarship due to this success.
I am in physics olympiad team and preparing to represent my school in the national physics olympiad with some of my peers.
I have also done a physics research project and participated in a competition.
I would be pleased if you helped me predicting my odds of getting accepted guys!

Late applications, at many schools, get added to the Wait List pile. The kids on the WL are no academic slackers. For the top tier schools (Exeter, Andover, etc.), the chances of being admitted from the WL are not impossible, but it can be very, very bleak. Unless you have some compelling “hook”, I can’t see how a BS admissions office would look favorably on your not being able to meet a deadline like everyone else.

Consider applying to schools with rolling admissions if attending BS this coming fall is a must.
