Late application to Emory, chances?

I applied to 8 schools and all of them were either safeties or target schools, but i didn’t apply to emory because i was depressed that even if i got in i wouldn’t get anything.

anyways, to make a long story short, i’ve sent my application online (commonapp.org), and my guidance counselor needs to send in the teacher recs/guidance rec/transcript/etc.

I need to know first of all: here’s what I am, (asian american) 25/276 kids, top 10 percent in class, 3.71/4.00 (92.8) UNWEIGHTED (no weighting), SATs of 1250, 1380, 1460 (this one is combined 730 and a new math score of 730), SAT IIs of 710 chemistry, 710 math ic, 690 bio, 600 writing (i know), 7 APS, all honors, 100+ hours of community service, debate club 4 years, key club 4 years, tutoring for 1 year, skiing for 2 years, spanish club 4 years, school newspaper one year. and i’m in NY.

I wrote, what I think, is a very strong essay but will my late application (the deadline is January 15th for regular decision which is a week away), affect me very negatively. Does Emory even look at all the applications before January 15th (like rolling admissions).

Please tell me my chances/Hopes because I know now that this is the school I want to go to.

P.S.
I know that Emory loves their students to be interested in their school. Unfortunately t/o the college process, all I did was talk to a student who graduated from there, checked out some review sites, here, read student comments, and subscribed to the mailing list. I did not ask for their videos, attend their tours (too expensive to travel for us), etc.

Please anyone?

bumpppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp

I read one book on college admissions that said there are so many applications received that they really don't pay attention to when they come in. There are piles and piles.

alright, thank you.

Do u think that I can get in and although i didn't physically "show" much interest in Emory, I know I want to go there. Will it harm me or hamper my chances if I call them and ask them about the school, or about my application. What does anyone here recommend that I do?

i think you're worrying way too much. i'm sure emory will understand that you couldn't afford visiting and going on their tours. You seem like a strong applicant. Since you are so concerned about showing your interest in emory, you could send a supplemental "why emory" Essay if they don't require one.

Your essays will show that your are interested in Emory and knowledgable about it. You should be a good candidate for acceptance if your essays are good. One final point - they seem to wait list people. If that happens, your final grades may be a consideration, so don't catch senoritis.
