<p>I am currently a 9th grader at a public high school, and I became recently interested in attending a private boarding school. I've discovered that most applications are due on January 1 or early February, but I haven't even started mines yet! (I'm also going to be applying for financial aid.)
So my question is: Is it too late to start now? Like three-four weeks before applications are due? I would have to fill out applications, go to an interview, and write an essay.
My other option would be to put this off till next year, so I would be applying for 11th grade, but I would have more time to prepare.
What should I do??? Please help!</p>
<p>I think if you limit your search to 2-3 schools and get on the phone NOW to set up interviews, work on apps all of Winter Break, and either go standby for the Jan SSAT or pay to take it with an education consultant, it’s doable. Can’t say that it’s optimal, but it’s doable.</p>
<p>Getting at least one app/interview under your belt this year would help for future years if you don’t get admitted anywhere this round. Consider doing a repeat year if that opens up opportunities.</p>
<p>Also, consider schools with rolling admission…</p>

<p>doooo it. i’m in the same boat and i just started applying last monday. ive already scheduled interviews for the 2 schools im applying to and ive finished most of my essays and am studying for ssats right now. make sure you’re able to register for the ssats you’ll want to register asap!</p>

<p>I’m incredibly late, as well. I just started to consider going to boarding schools in November thanks to the influence of one of my best friends. 
But now, it’s been finalized that I really want to. As I type, I should be working on one for Hun & Stuart Day School, both in New Jersey.</p>

<p>i started early November but am a terrible procrastinator … so i havent done much other than the teacher rec and one interview but i know ill be done on time … if I can do it you can do it too</p>
