Late applications

<p>I don't know how valuable this might be to know, but it seems that sometimes a deadline is not really a deadline. </p>

<p>This week we were surprised to receive a number of letters from schools where S visited or had email correspondence(including well known schools), offering him another chance to submit an app, even though it's past the deadline! Some of those schools did have his SATs. Just a thought for some of you who may have thought it was too late to apply elsewhere at this late date! </p>

<p>Also sounds like a last ditch effort to maximize the number of apps received!</p>

<p>This past week, my son received a "Holiday Greetings" card from a college to which he did not apply. We weren't sure whether the card was late for 2005, early for 2006, or the college celebrates a mid-winter holiday unfamiliar to us. Perhaps they were trying to adjust the calendar so an application submitted now would not be viewed as late.</p>
