has anyone applied "late" admission to a BS?
At what point do you think it's considered too late to start late applications in general (yes I know schools have different deadlines)? Early August? Late August?
thanks

I was going to apply for this fall, and missed the deadline by a few days. But I decided against late application, mostly because of my need for financial aid, and how limited that is for late applicants.
If you need tons of FA, then august (and july, and june) is much too late. But if not, give it your best shot. And if youa re too late, try again next year.

I think it varies by school, so there is no easy answer. You can go to the ssat website and look at the scca list. It is hard to get financial aid at many schools after the regular deadline.

Burb Parent is correct. Which boarding schools are you looking at?

forgot about the scca list - thanks for that point
I'm not too sure, right now examining options (yes this late). But not too "specialized" - possibly something along the lines of DA or PA.

Deerfield or Phillips? If that's what you mean, there's pretty much not chance whatsoever of getting in. They're already completely full and have plenty of highly qualified kids on the waitlist.

My son went for the first interview date at Deerfield last year, met with coaches, and had a superb interview. Early interest seemed to show his great interest and the admission office sensed that it was his first choice.
