Ok so im a senior, and i am taking a really full schedule 4 ap's and one other class that is a grad requirement. Next semester there is really no other difficult class i can take; i would probably end up taking some meaningless elective that is a waste of my time and an easy A. So I am thinking about taking a late arrival and having a free 1st period, or early dismissal and have no 6th period, so that i can have time to study for ap tests and pursue other interests.

My question is do colleges look down on this? I mean it is second semester, and I might already be in to one or two of my schools by that time. Would this jeopardize my admission to selective schools by having 1 free class?

On the secondary school report sent by your counselor you are asked to list the courses you take second semester senior year. I think you realize that it looks like you are slacking off if you are only taking four academic classes. It's not unusual for students to take an advanced class at a local community college or university if they have no decent options at their HS.

What about 6/8 classes on a block schedule? I'm a little nervous about it since a lot of my peers take on full schedules. I might add on a college class next semester.

k guys im in a similar situation. my school has a schedule where i have four periods each day ( long ones >_>). Anyway, I'm taking 4 AP's... and that's all my classes but three of my four AP's i have everyday. thus i am using 7 out of my 8 slots. here's how my schedule will look

day 1

ap calc
ap chem
ap phys
ap stat

day 2

ap calc
ap chem
ap phys
study hall

etc;

i don;t have to take any english or foreign language because i already fullfilled the graduation requirements to those ( i come from another system and i already did the equivilant of 4 years of english and up to spanish 3). however, im still taking ap english next year (senior year)

i made a thread about this but i got contradictory opinions.....
