I was admitted to UC Berkeley’s School of Chemistry as a transferring Chemistry major for Fall 2016. One of the conditions of my admissions was that I receive no less than a B in any of the four courses I was taking my last semester at community college. The courses I was taking and their respective grades are as follows: Linear Alg/Diff Eq (B), Modern Physics/Optics ©, Electricity/Magnetism (B), Organic Chemistry 2 (A).
Although my term GPA stayed above a 3.0, the C jeopardizes my admission. I sent an update to Admissions on 5/10/2016, and three more times thereafter to no avail.
I was Accepted to all 8 UC schools. Because I was unable to get a timely response from Berkeley, I SIRed to both Berkeley and UCLA. However, the UC system eventually forced me to decline one of my admissions, and i opted out of UCLA. I chose to do this because somebody with whom I spoke in Admissions told me that I probably wasn’t getting a response because my violation was so minor, and that I don’t have anything to worry about.
On 8/05/2016, I received a email from Quincy Jones, Assistant Director of Admissions, detailing my Failure to Meet Conditions. I am told that I will receive a decision regarding my admission sometime this week.
Receiving this notice so ridiculously late leaves me with no options. It has been over a month since I declined my admission to UCLA.
Any advice on what I should do from here would be greatly appreciated.
