So I turned in a Cal Grant GPA Verification way before the deadline of March 2, 2011 and I was told by the counselor that all forms were submitted on the 1st. I checked the website and it wasn't received by the commission but, by then most of my peers had already gotten a review of their Cal Grant application. I was concerned so I talked to my counselor again and it turned out--unfortunately--that they'd lost my form. I submitted a late form for appeal around March 10-11 and as of now April 10, it still hasn't been received by the commission. I've tried to email and call the commission but, all I get are automated responses telling me to file a late verification form. Should I be concerned at this point or is there a later date for the late GPA forms to process? I am extremely concerned because my family is highly dependent on this form of financial aid.

I’ve also confirmed with my counselor that my late GPA Verification form was sent.

This is happening to me right now! I was wondering if you ever got your calgrant?

Yeah I did. I just had to make a few phone calls with the CalGrant Office to verify that my late GPA forms were sent and reviewed. Also, keep in touch with your school’s financial aid office so they stay updated with any changes to your financial aid.

I just looked online and it said my application had been processed, but still nothing was awarded. Does this mean that I was not granted the late calgrant? i’m freaking out because I need the money terribly.

Like I said, if you have any doubts, just call CalGrant Office directly. Here’s the contact page:
