Late deposits for honors housing

Some friends are just deciding on Bama, and are ready to pay their deposits. Since they’ve missed the March 1 date on the housing selection calendar, do they choose their room in April, even though they are in the honors program? And do they choose in April after the early depositers choose? Or can they choose this week, like those who paid their deposits on time, since this is when the honors kids can pick rooms?

They will choose in April. The deadline for the housing deposit was March 1. Here’s the link to the housing website…

Thanks, momreads. Saw the housing calendar. Since they choose in April, can they choose with the regular housing kids, or do they have to go later in April, since they deposited after March 1?

I have no idea how it really plays out, but considering the number of honors kids who don’t have a foursome set up, there has to be plenty of available honors singles left when the April crew comes around. Maybe not is your specific building or floor, but who really knows what is the absolute best place anyways?

That’s what they’re hoping. They’ll be able to fill in empty spaces in honors housing when it’s their turn to pick.

^^^It should be the case that there are available spaces scattered amongst the various honors residence halls. It would still help to look for people with open spots that may want to pull them in versus picking a random space.

The student can also hit facebook and look for Honors roomies, or roomies in general…

If the student already has a selected his suite he can “pull” in another student or Honor Student.

D found her roomate on facebook last year, pulled in D & then they found two more suitemates on Facebook… meet two roomies before school started & they all Facebooked all summer long…it worked out great!!
