My mom is in sort of a unique tax situation (she has to file in 2 states) and she didn’t get all her W2s until about a week ago. When I was initially filling out IDOC, Tufts sent me a letter saying to just submit her 2013 tax return and they’d give us “tentative financial aid award” until her 2014 return was filed, at which point we’d get a concrete award. But yesterday when financial aid was released, instead of getting any kind of tentative award, I just got a letter saying that they cannot guarantee funding for late applicants and to submit everything as soon as possible. So, my question is, what are my chances of still getting financial aid if I submitted her 2014 return yesterday? And how long does it take for student services to respond to emails?
You really should ask the Tufts Financial Aid office these questions. Only they know these answers.
@redpoodles Unfortunately the woman I spoke to on the phone wasn’t very helpful and they haven’t gotten back to my email yet. I don’t expect anyone on CC to know for sure, but I was hoping perhaps someone had been in a similar situation and could tell me how it played out for them.
We had an even more complex situation (file in German two years late, don’t have W2s). I spoke three times to a woman named Channel (i.e., sounded like Sha-nell). She was very helpful, try asking for her.
Just a note that was for @redpoodles (so you’ll get an alert).
no financial aid for you!!!
