Late Financial Aid Application for UC Davis

Hey guys,

Really panicked and nervous guy here. So I applied to UC Davis last November and today gasp got accepted. However, due to multiple personal factors as well as the fact that my counselor at the CCC wasn’t clear enough about things, I have missed the priority deadlines to apply for FAFSA + Blue and Gold. I qualify easily for FAFSA. I actually currently receive FAFSA at my CCC. What are my chances of getting FAFSA + Blue and Gold for Davis now that I will be applying late? Does anyone else have an experience with this? Also, are the financial aid people at Davis considerate and helpful with situations like this? I basically feel like I’ve screwed up my once chance to go to Davis. :frowning:

Thanks

The deadline you missed is for state aid only - so you can still get a Pell grant, assuming you qualify. The question is whether you’ll be able to get a university grant (to replace the Cal Grant) if you missed the March 2 deadline, and I just don’t know. You need to contact the financial aid office at Davis, and see if they’re able to help.

All the aid deadlines are on the webpages for UCs. It is too bad you are filing fafsa last year but not thinking you need to file for aid at UC. If they can’t accommodate late filers, then you can take a year off, or just self pay a class or two an apply again, following the directions on the website for deadlines for requirements for those seeking aid.

@dodgersmom - you mentioned a university grant… I was offered a university grant in my UC Davis financial aid package but I’m not sure what that means. Are university grants disbursed to the student to assist with tuition and living expenses?

^^stick to your own thread which is about your question. This thread is for the OP’s issues (Original poster and it can be too confusing to reply to 2 in the same thread.

Any news, @niteowl33? Were you able to contact the UCD financial aid office?
