the priority deadline for financial for UT is March 31. will i be at any disadvantage if i fill it out at around first week of April?

It depends on how much your parents make, if they make over 80K you won't get finaid from UT anyways, they'll just give you a bunch of loans.

my parents make less than $20,000.

Yes, it will probably make a difference. It will be worth your while to get it in by Tuesday

I heard people who make below 40K basically get a full ride to UT.

No hmf123 you are incorrect. UT does not give any full rides except to National Merit Scholars.

I meant that they give a lot of finaid so it's kind of close to a full ride. But hey, I might be wrong about that too. Altho, I think it might be nice to call the finaid office to make sure. When I called, I didn't have to wait very long at all.

Full ride means tuition, room, and board. UT does not give free tuition, room, and board to National Merit Scholars.

UT gives less to National Merit Scholars than most other state schools. They give 4,000 to freshmen and 3,000/year for the next 3 years for a total of $13,000. Free rides can be had at A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Arizona, Arizona State, Alabama, Central Florida.....

Too bad UT is such an Awesome University, they don't have to give as much to get the the NM students!

chances are that these NM students can get into every other college ranked higher than UT...though 4k does go a long way at UT...

So are you sure UT gives a lot of financial aid for students whose parents make less than 40K? I am hoping I receive some financial aid but my financial aid package hasn't arrived yet. It says that they are still processing it.
