Late mailed recommendations?

I'm worried one of my recommendations won't get postmarked in time to meet the Nov 1 deadline. Is the admissions office strict about these kind of things? I would like to believe they would accept it as long as its reasonable close to deadline.

I would be very surprised if Princeton would penalize you for not having the recs all in by Nov 1. Son’s experience with MIT EA is that they were very chill about late arrivals of supporting documentation. Obviously, to the extent you have any control or influence over the timing of the recommendation, use that control or influence to get it in asap. And as you may know, teacher recs and counselor recs can be submitted on line through Common App.

1 give 'em a call
2 i sent them an email asking if they’re fine with a letter being a week late. They said yes.
3 don’t believe what i say, because you have no idea who i am or my experience regarding these matters.
4 it doesn’t really matter because, at least at tufts, final decisions aren’t made until December.
