<p>For the colleges who give you the range of late March to early April for their notification dates, just how late into March does this typically start to happen? And also, how often do they tend to go past April 1st?</p>
<p>From what I understand this means “last week of march-first week of april” though it could be a bit earlier. I doubt anything will be as late as after the first week of april.</p>
<p>I think they use this terminology to protect themselves from lots of frantic phone calls wondering where their results are. Many times they release results near the beginning of their range, that way everyone is pleasantly surprised that they didn’t have to wait as long as they thought they would. :)</p>
