"Late March"

The GW site says that RD notification begins in late March/early April... but what exactly do they mean by "late March?" As early as next week? (Probably not, but I can hope.) Do any current GW students happen to remember what day they found out?

do you know if its posted online at the application status website or a different site?

Or do they send letters?

^ I'm not 100% positive, but I'm sure like most other colleges they notify you online first and then you get your acceptance letter like a week later. I'm guessing we'll just log on to the app status site and our status will have changed from "under review" to (hopefully!) "accepted."

so basically we'll be biting our nails everytime we open the status check...:(

ahh I hope we find out soon!!!!

you should receive an email... thats how i found out, but i was ED1

last year, people received emails of their acceptances/rejections. i think they were sent on the last week of march.

GW is obnoxious about how late you find out. I remember not finding out until early april...after every other college.

^ Blah, that sucks... but thanks guys

I spoke to a student at GW and was told that the decisions will be mailed the last week in March so they will be RECEIVED BY April 1st. My son has applied...we live in California...so, we will have to wait until the very last minute before we hear. AGGHH!

^ I live in Cali too... still such a long time to wait!

Is there any chance that decisions will be available online sooner than the mailing date?

Yes decisions will be online before the mailing date or at least on the mailing date. They wouldn't change how they released their decisions from how they did EDI and EDII. Rest assured Californians won't have to wait until snail mail arrives.

My S is a freshman; he found out he was accepted online on Friday, March 31st, 2006. He then got the acceptance in the mail the next day. Generally, that's what he found to be true with most incoming freshman, RD that applied at GW. Good luck to all of you!

How is your son liking the campus gwfreshmom?

Any complaints? and was aid good?

i was accepted as an ED1 freshman and i heard Dec 8th, the first in my school to hear. So i would say that you will find out online probably within the next two weeks. They sent me an email the day before they posted decisions saying when we could access it. Good luck to everyone!

kmass,
My S loves GW; it is the perfect place for him and has provided many opportunities. Complaints: Thurston--UGH!! Lots of room, but a bit of a crazy dorm; he rarely is able to study in his dorm, he therefore spends most of his time in the library.
Financial Aid: Okay, but they didn't meet all our need based on our Expected Family Contribution, which was a ridiculous amount. They could do quite a bit better, especially for the "middle income" people.
Overall it has worked out well, and the financial thing is one semester at a time.

i emailed admissions and they said decisions will be mailed out at the end of the week

i dont know maybe they meant the end of next week. I applied RD but in about mid december and had my entire application complete for about 1 1/2 months now, but I just check the application status for my account and it says my application is still under review

maybe but i got their reply to my email on thursday...which is still in the "week" which i think they're referring to

I just spoke to the admissions office. The letters were mailed out yesterday. An email will be sent next week that will indicate when decisions can be checked on line. Got it? Letters sent already; emails next week.
