Late night dining suggestions needed

Visiting Rice with my son in early November. Arriving late, so won't be to hotel near campus until after midnight, but we will be on west coast time and may want to get a bite to eat.

I would appreciate any suggestions for someplace to eat after midnight, prefereably where students hangout (Rice Village?) so my son gets more of the overall Rice experience. Would rather sit down than drive through.

Thanks a lot.

If you like Vietnamese, I’ve got to recommend Mai’s (maishouston.com)! A little far from the village but sooo so delicious.
House of Pies is closer to campus and more of a “typical” Rice hangout. It can get kind of sketchy past midnight sometimes and might be very crowded depending on the day of week. Awesome breakfast, though.

How about 59 Diner (on Shepherd)? [59 Diner – Six Location in Houston, Texas | 59 Diner – Six Location in Houston, Texas](http://59diner.com/) I’m not sure if it’s much of a Rice hangout, but it’s also open 24 hours and is in the general part of town as Rice.

Definitely second the recommendation of 59 Diner.

59 Diner and Whataburger are two of my favorites. Both are open 24/7 (Whataburger depending on location, though, I believe).

House of Pies. 24 hours and a Rice staple.
