<p>I'm applying to usc's sca and and the final and only due date for that is dec 1. I need 3 rec letters and I already have 2 of the teachers sent in their letters already but the last 1 hadn't sent his in yet, so when I messaged him on monday to remind him he thought that the due date was january bc commonapp only shows regular admission....if i turned in the app with everything else on time but 1 rec letter was late would they still consider my application???</p>
<p>Most schools are pretty lenient with LOR, I think you’ll have some leeway for a few extra days after the deadline for the app</p>
<p>I’m in a similar situation. I will also be applying to USC this weekend, but my counselor failed to assign my second teacher recommender to my common app with Naviance (very annoying that I can’t do it myself). From the research I’ve done the past few days, USC seems to be fairly lenient with receiving materials shortly after the deadline as long as the main app is submitted. However, with the common app, I’m not sure if in order to send the letter of rec. after the deadline I will need to ask to have it faxed directly asap by my counselor or if assigning it to the common app after submission will be effective. If you can’t find a direct answer online in the next few days, I would definitely try calling their office of admissions when it opens up on Monday the 2nd.</p>
<p>Also, even if for some reason they don’t accept your 3rd letter of rec late, they will still consider the rest of your application as long as it is submitted by the deadline since letters of rec are entirely optional.</p>
