I've tried to search the Yale forum for this, but haven't really come across any answers.

According to the common app, one of my teachers still has "not yet started" on the recommendation. Though it might be written up and just waiting to be uploaded, I'm worried that it won't be done/turned in until after deadline for the early round. Should I switch over to regular? Will Yale understand if it's a day or two late? How about a week?

I’m in the same predicament. Yale is pretty lenient about it:

Teacher recommendations and your School Report may be sent before or after you submit your Common Application and Yale Supplement. Materials that arrive before your application will be kept on file until your application is received. We understand that it may not be possible in some cases for teachers and counselors to meet our deadlines, and we will make reasonable allowances for late school documents.

I think a couple of days late will be fine.
