i hate myself for waiting this long but i finally realized i should get a safety school. i am planning to go into business and i am looking for a solid undergrad program, my stats are nothing incredible but are ok:

Class rank: 12/144 (9%)
3.9 GPA
ACT: 28
my school doesnt offer AP courses but i have basically had the hardest schedule i could fit in.

Varsity Track
Varsity Cross Country
Concert Choir
Spanish Club
NHS
worked concessions and clean up at local fair
delivered wreaths to homeless shelter/hospital

Right now my number one choice is carlson at minnesota so im right around average, but i definitely need a safety. i dont want to spend a fortune, so i need to stay within iowa/minnesota or else private college. any opinions would be great thanks.

Other universities: Iowa State & Drake. MN Liberal Arts Colleges: St. Olaf, St. John's U. & Gustavus Adolphus. IA Liberal Arts Colleges: Luther, Coe & Cornell.

thanks, those area all good ones. i have been accepted to iowa state and that was actually my planned safety school but im still not sure. i have also applied to marquette. i plan to apply to iowa really soon here. i have been to luther, coe, and cornell and i didnt really like em. im more of a bigger school type. also i visited wisconsin and really liked it, but i HATE that the business program is 2 years. thanks a lot for all the input : )

St. Louis U. and Creighton would be comparable Jesuit options for Marquette, though further from home. I really like Lawrence in Appleton, Wisconsin which does not offer business per se but has economics and pre-business professional advisement. Additional LACs in Iowa: Wartburg, Loras and Central. Wartburg finished #25 at 2007 NCAA Division III X-Country Championships (UW-LaCrosse, Stevens Point and Platteville finished #5, #6 & #11 and Luther was #8). Could you compete in this sport at NCAA Division I, II or III levels?

r u from iowa exploringoptions? just wondering cuz ive never seen anyone on here that knew about any of the tons of private colleges here. i looked into division III track/cross country a while ago and i could be in it but i wouldnt do it cuz i am sick of running. i used to run every night and ive enjoyed not running for over a month : )

I'm not from IA but I do know my colleges. If it helps get you in the door at a better school, keeps you in shape and relieves stress, why not give it a try. College athletics looks good on resumes too!

Well with your stats your state public school should be a sure thing and would likely give you a merit scholarship.

I'm not familiar with many schools in that area with the exception of Jesuit universities. I'd highly recommend any one of them. Some in the vicinity include Marquette in Milwaukee, Creighton in Omaha, Rockhurst in Kansas City, and Saint Louis University. All are outstanding schools and also give a lot of financial aid.
